I know the most remarkable four young people, Radek, Peter, Aja, and Jaruska. I have never met them personally, but they are true and good friends. The live in the Czech Republic.

They have built, and just flown, a 3 meter, that's right, 10 foot, wingspan model of the original Tumbling Bear. The workmanship and detail, as you can see from the pictures, is absolutely fantastic. The only detail that is not quite right is that their plastic pilot is too young and too handsome!

Susan and I are so honored. And so grateful. We plan to visit the Czech Republic some time as soon as we can, and see this remarkable airplane. And to celebrate with our friends. Thank you, Radek, Peter, Aja, Jaruska. Congratulations on the first flight of the Tumbling Bear, and happy landings!

Yuma Airshow 2009

Photos by Laryl HANCOCK

Rob has worked real real real hard to get back in the Zlin and in front of the crowds. Mission accomplished.

We both landed back home Saturday evening after a great weekend at the MCAS Yuma, AZ Airshow. Rob performed beautifully and flawlessly. After he landed, he autographed for 2-1/2 hours. We visited ill kids at the Yuma hospital on Thursday and more than 200 kids at a local school on Friday after practice. A few very busy days, not to mention the preparation prior to this wonderful military show.

Thank You to Our Sponsors

Once again, longtime sponsors are coming forward and supporting Rob to do all possible for him to achieve this goal.

Ron Monson from Performance Aero Engines (www.performanceengines.com) in record time spiffed up the custom high performance engine. Ron is the absolute high guru of power and reliability.

Rich Chiappe from Sky-Tec (www.skytecair.com) has donated a new starter so Rob can start right up and get back in his Zlin. "Sky-Tec starters are AMAZING! Several pounds lighter than the stock starter, much more muscular, and as dependable as an anvil! The ideal solution to starter problems for my very hoped-up Lycoming," says Rob.

Blue Mountain Avionics (www.bluemountainavionics.com) rushed a brand new “EFIS Lite” which is a state of the art, complete navigation in an amazingly compact package.

Alan Silver from Silver Parachute Sales & Service (www.silverparachutes.com) rushed to get Rob a new custom parachute. He's the best in the world!

Everyone at G and J Aircraft and Precision applauded Rob when he "walked" in last week to pick up a few parts you can't find any where else. Their support has been enthusiastic.
Dave from Pacific Coast Radio has ordered Rob's new headseat and helmet and his support has been outstanding.

All our sponsors have provided invaluable assistance in getting us in the air.
We  appreciate their efforts, their expertise, their support, their kindness, their ENCOURAGEMENT and mostly, their friendship.
